Considering his earlier slogan “Go Corona, Corona Go” successful against the deadly COVID-19, Union minister Ramdas Athawale introduced a new slogan “No Corona, Corona No” for the new strain of coronavirus, recently found in the United Kingdom. “Earlier I gave the slogan ‘Go Corona, Corona Go’ and now corona is going. For the new coronavirus strain, I give the slogan of ‘No Corona, Corona No’,” the minister told ANI.

The news strain of coronavirus is said to be more contagious than the original version of the virus.

Earlier, Athawale had coined the “Go Corona, Corona Go” slogan when the infection was first reported in India. At a prayer meet at Mumbai’s Gateway of India on March 5, Athawale chanted the slogan with several others. On the same day, Prime Minister Narendra Modi had requested the Indians to switch off their lights and lit candles or diyas to felicitate the frontline warriors in the fight against coronavirus.

According to Athawale, his earlier slogan had became world famous.

“I gave the slogan in February, when the Covid-19 situation was not as bad in India. At that time people were saying, will this make corona go away? Now we are seeing this slogan all across the world,” he had said in April.

However, Athawale’s slogan couldn’t protect him from coronavirus as he tested positive in October.

Mayur Borkar, the PRO of Republican Party of India (Athawale) (RPI-A), had said: “Athawale has tested positive and is now admitted in Bombay Hospital.”
