Diljit Dosanjh Joins Farmers’ Protest And Donates Rs 1 Crore to Purchase Woollens For Protesting Farmers
Popular actor-singer Diljit Dosanjh, who joined the farmers’ agitation at the Delhi borders on Saturday, has said to have donated Rs 1 crore for the protestors. The amount will be used to buy warm clothes for the farmers, who are protesting in the chilling weather. Diljit even urged the government to pay heeds to their demands.
In a video shared on official Instagram handle, Punjabi singer Singga revealed that Diljit had donated Rs 1 crore without any kind of show-off. Singga expressed his gratitude and said, “Thank you brother, you gave Rs 1 crore for the farmers, for their warm clothes, and nobody knows. You didn’t post about it. Nowadays people can’t shut up after donating Rs 10.”
Meanwhile, in his address to the protesting farmers at the Singhu border, Diljit said: “Hats off to all of you farmers, you have created a new history. This history would be narrated to future generations. Farmers’ issues shouldn’t be diverted by anyone.”
“We have only one request from the Centre… please fulfil the demands of our farmers. Everyone is sitting here peacefully and the entire country is with farmers. This agitation is about farmers. Things are twisted on Twitter but the truth is that farmers are protesting peacefully, nobody is talking about bloodshed here,” he added.
Diljit has been vocal in supporting farmers who want Farm Laws 2020 to be repealed. Earlier this week, Diljit garnered attention for his Twitter feud with actress Kangana Ranaut.
