Biden Calls For Patience as he Nears Presidency; Trump Echoes Unsubstantiated Claims of Voter Fraud
US President Donald Trump issued a fresh warning to his Democratic rival Joe Biden, saying that he should not “wrongfully claim” the President’s office as legal proceedings were “just beginning” in the country’s presidential election. “Joe Biden should not wrongfully claim the office of the President. I could make that claim also. Legal proceedings are just now beginning!” Trump said in a tweet.
Trump alleged that his initial lead had “miraculously” disappeared in some states of the US.
“I had such a big lead in all of these states late into election night, only to see the leads miraculously disappear as the days went by. Perhaps these leads will return as our legal proceedings move forward!” Trump tweeted.
The US President had earlier promised to keep continuing with the counting of “illegal ballots” in respect to the country law.
“From the beginning, we have said that all legal ballots must be counted and all illegal ballots should not be counted, yet we have met resistance to this basic principle by Democrats at every turn. We will pursue this process through every aspect of the law to guarantee that the American people have confidence in our government,” he had tweeted.
The CNN reported that Biden has taken lead over Trump in the crucial American states like Pennsylvania and Georgia. He is much closer to the magical figures of 270 to win the US presidential election.
Currently, Biden has 253 electoral college votes while Trump trails with 214 votes.
