Army Chief Manoj Naravane Says Security Increased Near LAC as Tension Escalates With China
Army Chief Manoj Mukund Naravane said on Friday that the situation near the Line of Actual Control (LAC) has turned “delicate and serious”. He added that the security has been enhanced at the contested LAC as a precautionary measure.
Naravane is on a two-day security review of the conflicted Ladakh sector since Thursday. As per media reports, both India and China have deployed over 1,00,000 soldiers with weapons in their forward as well as deep areas.
The Indian Army chef said the military talks as well as diplomatic level conversations are underway and we might see a solution soon.
“I am confident that talks can help resolve the border problem fully,” Naravane said as quoted by Hindustan Times.
However, Naravane was quick to add that the Indian soldiers are fully prepared to deal with any situation.
“Our officers and men are the finest in the world and they will not only make the army proud but also the nation proud,” he said.
On Thursday, chief of defence staff General Bipin Rawat said Pakistan could take advantage of the ongoing conflict between India and China. However, he warned the Pakistani army of heavy losses if it attempted any “misadventure”.
