The Civil Aviation Ministry has allowed the airlines to serve food to the passengers on their journey. However, only international flights are allowed to serve hot meals while domestic flights passenger will be served with pre-packed food amid the coronavirus pandemic.

A senior official of the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) has told PTI that the passengers who intend to fly without mask will be named in a no-fly list by the airline.

The domestic flights that resumed their operations on May 25 but meals were not allowed, while international flights could serve only pre-packed meals to their passengers.

“Airlines may serve pre-packed snacks/meals/pre-packed beverages on domestic flights depending on the duration of flight,” the Civil Aviation Ministry said in an order on Thursday.

“Airlines can serve hot meals and limited beverages on international flights as per the standard practices,” the statement read further.

The government order mentioned the use of single-use disposable plates for serving of food to the passengers in both domestic as well as international flights.

“Crew shall wear a fresh set of gloves for every meal/beverage service,” the order added.

For the in-flight entertainment, the government order said: “Disposable earphones or cleaned and disinfected headphones will be provided.
