Delhi Police arrested an ISIS terrorist Abu Yusuf, who was armed with Improvised Explosive Devices and a pistol, following a brief exchange of fire in Delhi’s Dhaula Kuan. According to the police, the ISIS suspect was planning a “lone wolf attack” in Delhi and thus, a high alert has been declared in the national capital and its neighbouring states.

On further suspicion, the police is checking the vehicles crossing the border between Delhi and Noida.

“One ISIS operative was arrested with Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs) by our Special Cell after an exchange of fire at Dhaula Kuan,” Pramod Singh Kushwaha, DCP, Delhi Police Special Cell, said as quoted by ANI.

Around 11:30 PM on Friday, Yusuf was arrested with two pressure cookers filled with about 15 kg of explosives (IEDs) and a pistol.

The pistol is in possession of the Delhi Police, while the two IEDs have been defused. The accused is in the custody of the Special Cell for eight days.

According to ANI, the ISKP commanders were reportedly handling Yusuf, who was in touch with terrorists in Kashmir.

Meanwhile, the news agency sources said Yusuf has told the police that he belongs to Uttar Pradesh’s Balrampur.
