Amid the ongoing was between Mumbai Police and Bihar Police over actor Sushant Singh Rajput’s death case, an investigating IPS officer from Patna, Vinay Tiwari, has been “forcibly quarantined” by the BMC. Tiwari is the senior-most member of the four-cop team that reached Mumbai to investigate an “abetment to suicide” case after Sushant’s father KK Singh filed an FIR in Patna.

“IPS officer Vinay Tiwari reached Mumbai today from Patna on official duty to lead the police team there but he has been forcibly quarantined by BMC officials at 11 PM today,” Bihar Director General of Police (DGP) Gupteshwar Pandey tweeted, along with a picture of a quarantine stamp on Tiwari’s hand.

“He was not provided accommodation in the IPS mess, despite request, and was staying in a Guest House in Goregaon,” the Bihar DGP added.

The criminal case seems to have become a ground for politics now. Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar was quick to react on the DGP’s accusation, saying, “Whatever happened to him (the officer) is not right.”

“Whatever happened to him (the police officer) is not right. It is not political. Bihar Police is carrying out its duty. Our DGP will speak to them.” He said Bihar Police is simply carrying out its duty as per law,’ the CM said as quoted by NDTV.
