Odisha recorded 401 recoveries on Thursday, maximum in a single day, as the total tally of recovered patients reached 7407. According to the State Health & Family Welfare Department, Ganjam recorded the highest 100 recoveries, while 67 COVID-19 patients recovered from Gajapati.

Cuttack recorded 42 recoveries, Jajpur 32, Deogarh 19, Koraput 18, Khurda 15, Bargarh and Bhadrak 14, Balasore 12 and 10 cases each recovered from Keonjhar and Malkangiri district.

There were single-digit recoveries in some of the districts such as nine from Jagatsinghpur, seven cases each from Jharsuguda and Mayurbhanj, six from Kandhamal, five cases each from Nayagarh and Sambalpur, four from Nabarangpur, three from Kendrapara and two from Dhenkanal.

However, Thursday saw a record high 577 new coronavirus cases in the state to take Odisha’s tally past 11,000. Four deaths were recorded due to the COVID-19, including three from Ganjam district and one from Bhadrak. With this, Odisha’s total tally of COVID-19 deaths reached 52.

For a third consecutive day, Odisha had recorded more than 500 positive cases that took the toll to 11201 overall.
