Puri MP Pinaki Misra To Represent BJD In PM Modi’s All-Party Meeting On India-China Border Conflict

Pinaki Misra, Member of Parliament from Puri, has been nominated by the Biju Janata Dal (BJD) to represent the Odisha ruling party in Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s all-party meeting on the ongoing India-China border conflict.

Odisha Chief Minister and BJD chief Naveen Patnaik told Defence Minister Rajnath Singh in a letter that Misra will represent his party in the meeting on Friday.

Following violent clash in Ladakh’s Galwan valley, the opposition parties sought details of the clash between Indian and Chinese troops that left 20 Indian Army personnel dead.

Leading opposition party Congress launched a fresh attack on government with former party president Rahul Gandhi alleging that the Chinese attack on Indian soldiers was “pre-planned” and the government was “fast asleep” while the soldiers paid the price.

“It’s now crystal clear that: 1. The Chinese attack in Galwan was pre-planned. 2. GOI was fast asleep and denied the problem. 3. The price was paid by our martyred Jawans,” Gandhi said in a tweet, along with a media report that quoted junior defence minister Shripad Naik saying that the attack in Ladakh was pre-planned.

“It is a matter of national security, there will be no compromise. We will not allow others to take our land. I pay tribute to all jawans who lost lives. The nation is proud of them that they made the supreme sacrifice. It won’t go in vain. It was pre-planned by China and Indian forces will give a befitting reply,” Naik had said in the abovementioned report.
